Job Description:

The Hotel Chelsea - Facilities Manager is responsible for managing the porter team, cleanliness of facilities, receiving team, and overseeing the process of receiving, organizing, storing, allocating and requisitioning products throughout the building. The role also involves conducting Tray Run Audits, monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, daily DOH walk-throughs, and submitting reports to upper management. Additionally, the position requires performing routine maintenance on facilities, managing HVAC and plumbing systems, overseeing pest control, scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs, ensuring proper security measures, and maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities. The Facilities Manager will also collaborate with partners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs and operate and maintain custodial functions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the porter team and overall cleanliness of facilities;
  • Managing the receiving team and overseeing the process of receiving, organizing, storing, allocating and requisitioning products;
  • Conducting Tray Run Audits;
  • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas;
  • Performing routine maintenance on facilities;
  • Managing HVAC and plumbing systems;
  • Overseeing pest control;
  • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs;
  • Ensuring proper security measures;
  • Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities;
  • Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences;
  • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions;
  • Collaborating with partners on budgeting for facilities needs;
  • Operating and maintaining custodial functions;
  • Ensuring security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly;
  • Managing and reviewing service contracts;
  • Conducting and documenting regular facilities inspections;
  • Checking completed work by vendors and contractors;
  • Recommending maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications;
  • Kitchen Equipment basic maintenance and cleaning;
  • Acting as point person for all maintenance and repair onsite;
  • Forecasts, allocates, and supervises the financial and physical resources of the facility management.
