• On-site 100% for a 3-month probationary period - Monday through Friday, 9 to 5.
• Location: Bronx, NY Our client, a prominent Bronx-based nonprofit organization, is seeking housing intervention specialists to provide crucial support to individuals facing housing challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to develop service plans, assist with intake procedures, and maintain regular contact to ensure housing stability. Additionally, the specialist will collaborate with legal and case management staff to advocate for clients' housing needs and access to community resources. Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with program participants to develop service plans
  • Assist in client intake, service planning, advocacy, and referral services
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to follow-up on service plans
  • Document case progress and enter information into database
  • Participate in housing related activities and workshops
  • Assist individuals with obtaining benefits and financial resources
  • Advocate for rental assistance grants through charitable organizations
  • Make appointments with housing agents and landlords
  • Work collaboratively with legal services staff
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Stay updated on social services trends and developments
  • Perform general clerical duties Professional and Personal Qualifications:
    • Baccalaureate (Bachelor's) degree preferred
    • Direct social service experience is a plus
    • Understanding of homeless and special needs populations
    • Ability to work collaboratively and handle multiple tasks effectively
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
