As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you'll play a critical role in administering respiratory care, both critical and general therapy, and directing and managing the respiratory and pulmonary care for a designated group of patients.Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations, manage care, and provide treatment for patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities.
• Perform inventory of respiratory equipment and maintain adequate stock to ensure timely patient care.
• Administer respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians, adhering to established standards and practices.
• Train staff, including physicians and students, in respiratory therapy-related issues.
• Manage mechanical ventilators, Bi-pap, and respiratory monitoring, ensuring patient safety and optimal care.
• Perform emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation and maintain airways, measuring ventilator volumes, pressures, and flows for critically ill patients.
• Conduct arterial blood gas studies and interpret results, including pulse oximetry and analysis.
• Educate patients on the proper use of sleep apnea and CPAP machines, ensuring correct fitting and settings.
• Setup diagnostic nocturnal sleep screens and administer respiratory medication as ordered by physicians or patient-driven protocols.Requirements
  • Associate's Degree from an RRT program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
  • Ability to provide respiratory therapy methodologies and techniques.
  • Operate and troubleshoot diagnostic equipment with ease.
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist certification, NBRC, and State of Pennsylvania certification within one year.
